Putting the Passion Back in the Practice of Medicine.
2026 PAMED House of Delegates
Welcome
Each year, physician delegates from across Pennsylvania gather for the House of Delegates (HOD), PAMED’s principal policymaking body, to debate and vote on resolutions that shape organized medicine’s positions on issues affecting patients and the practice of medicine. This year, for the first time, PAMED is opening its Annual Meeting to all physicians in Pennsylvania, whether a member or nonmember, to get to learn about our CME offerings, meet our Board of Trustees, and network with other physicians in your area or specialty.
Whether you’re a first-time attendee or a returning veteran – You belong in the conversation. You belong in the community. You belong here.

Beyond Easy Answers: AI, Clinical Expertise, and the Future of Physician-Led Care
Saturday, October 24
11 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.
Presented by:
Graham McMahon, MD, MMSc, President & CEO, ACCME
Artificial intelligence is rapidly making high-quality medical information easier to access at the point of care. For physicians, this creates an enormous opportunity—but also a new challenge: access to an answer is not the same as developing knowledge, judgment, or expertise.
This plenary will move beyond a general discussion of the promises and risks of AI and focus instead on how practicing physicians can use AI thoughtfully: to find information, deepen learning, critically evaluate AI-generated clinical content, and improve professional performance. The goal is not to resist increasingly powerful tools, but to use them in ways that strengthen rather than displace physician judgment, preserve professional autonomy, and support better decisions with patients.

Expect the same substance you're used to, a fresh and collaborative feel, and even more chances to connect with colleagues from across the Commonwealth.
From Member Voice to PAMED Policy
PAMED policy starts with member ideas. Whether you submit a resolution, provide testimony, or follow House proceedings, there are opportunities throughout the year to help shape the Society’s advocacy and policy priorities.
Any PAMED member can develop a resolution for consideration by the House of Delegates. While resolutions must be introduced by a voting delegate, members are encouraged to identify issues, develop solutions, and work with their delegation to bring ideas forward. The Resolutions Portal is closed for 2026 House Business but will open in January 2027 for next year’s business.
Any PAMED member can develop a resolution for consideration by the House of Delegates. While resolutions must be introduced by a voting delegate, members are encouraged to identify issues, develop solutions, and work with their delegation to bring ideas forward.
Once resolutions are posted, members can review proposals and submit written testimony. This is an opportunity to share expertise, raise concerns, and help inform the House’s deliberations before formal debate begins.
Members may participate in the Virtual Business Session by providing oral testimony before the Reference Committees. Your perspective helps committees evaluate resolutions and develop recommendations for the House.
After testimony concludes and Reference Committee reports are released, delegations caucus to discuss recommendations, consider amendments, and determine positions before final House action.
During the Annual Meeting, delegates debate, amend, and vote on resolutions. Members are encouraged to stay engaged and follow the discussions that ultimately become official PAMED policy.
Policies adopted by the House guide PAMED’s advocacy efforts, legislative priorities, and organizational positions throughout the year, ensuring physician voices help shape the future of medicine in Pennsylvania.
